Hello world!

Hi and welcome to my blog for R-meg Virtual Assistant. I’m very new at WordPress and blogging, and I hope you all will be patient with me as I learn as I go. I would love to hear from anyone with tips, tricks and about your own adventures in blogging. I can’t wait to see where all of this will take me and look forward to hearing from you!

I have been providing “freelance” office assistance since 1993, which consisted of doing office overload for businesses (lawyers/accountants etc.), word processing tasks for individuals and small businesses, resume writing/editing and the like. This type of work was done on a pick up and drop off basis – I’d pick up the work, get it done at my home office, and return it when finished.

This continued until 2001, when I started to provide administrative assistance “off-site” and “electronically”. In fact, I didn’t meet my first client face to face until about a year after working together when he came to my home to give me a Christmas bonus.

Funny thing is, until about a year ago, I didn’t know that what I was doing was being a “virtual assistant”. I thought I was freelancing and I had no idea it was a booming business. I’ve since joined some awesome VA organizations and meeting some great people through networking.
